Shlomo J Cohen has been involved in hospital design and project management since 1994. Shlomo J Cohen operated as a senior project manager and as a partner in the CPM Project Management company, and was the head of the hospital team dealing with hospital design management, project management and construction management for projects over 300,000m2.

Shlomo J Cohen has also worked as project manager for the Israeli Pavilion in Shanghai EXPO 2010 together with Chinese C3 Management company from November 2007 until completion in May 2010.

In most of the larger and more complex projects led by Shlomo J Cohen, he managed Architectural Design companies from several countries, such as Boston and New York, USA; Lugano, Switzerland; Milan, Italy; Prague, Czech Republic  and Copenhagen, Denmark.

Shlomo J Cohen acted as the CEO of a real estate development company, Minrav International, operating in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, together with Minrav Development Corporation.

Some of the larger hospital projects include:

Assuta Ashdod Medical Center- This medical center includes a 52 bed Emergency Department, 12 General Operating Rooms of different sizes, 2 Caesarean ORs, and 2 Ophthalmology ORs, Intensive Care Unit, Chemotherapy and Dialysis Centers, Cardiology department, Maternity department, Neonatal and Birthing rooms, Woman’s health and Gynecology Center and women’s ER, Urology, Gastroenterology institutes, full outpatient clinics, Internal Medicine wards, Pediatric wards, Day Surgery and Surgical wards, and Orthopedic wards. Large Imaging, Radiology and Nuclear Medicine centers for a total of 72,000m2. The out- patient clinics are in operation today. Full occupancy is scheduled to occur by 10.2017.

Tel Aviv Medical Center-   Cardiology and Multi-disciplinary hospital building- which includes 680 Emergency Underground Hospital beds and 450 beds above ground for a total of 55,000m2, including a full services Cardiology hospital, Internal Medicine wards, Neurology and Neuro-surgery wards, Dermatology wards and Outpatient Clinics, including Cardiology outpatient clinics. This building was completed in 2013.

  Emergency room and Women’s health building- which includes the largest Emergency Department in Israel, Neo-natal ward, Maternity wards, IVF, Sperm Bank, Bone Marrow Bank and a Women’s ER and hospitalization wards for a total of 30,000m2. This building was completed in 2004.

  Underground Bomb-proof Medical Facility – this underground facility is a dual purpose parking garage and full medical facility that can house up to 1000 beds. The medical facility has all the electrical and medical gas connections for accute patients and houses the full range of nursing support for the different wards

Sha’are Zedek Medical Center- which includes largest Emergency Department in Jerusalem, main hospital entrance building, Outpatient Clinics, and management service departments. Operating and Surgery department included 12 prefabricated operating rooms for a total of 20,000m2. The ER was completed in 2006 and the Surgery and OR design was completed in 2007.

Clalit-Kaplan Medical Center, Rehovot- 250 bed Geriatric hospital including 35 bed Dialysis Center, Palliative and  Respiratory Rehabilitation wards, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Rehabilitation departments for a total of 20,000m2. This building is to be completed by 12.2018.

Bratislava University Medical Center in Slovakia- this hospital project consisted of a 950 bed 120,000m2 full services medical and teaching center for the entire area around Bratislava, the capital city of Slovakia. Shlomo performed as project design manager together with Assuta medical experts and Israeli design team to prepare the medical general program, the detailed medical and room program and the conceptual design including facades, sections and full 3d images of the hospital. We presented our conceptual design to the Ministry of Health’s local and international experts in several concentrated full day meetings during 2015-2016.
